I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida with 10+ years of experience working with adults, teens, and families.
People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons — to resolve something a hard circumstance created, to ease a general unhappiness, or anxiety, or simply to become less stuck, and more hopeful. Life doesn't always go as planned, and transitions, illness, and trauma are rarely anticipated.
Much of the work is having somewhere to explore loneliness, anxiety, grief, and shame, and to begin making changes that hold. That happens in a relationship built on empathy, trust, safety, and compassion — and we work as a team. That part matters more than any single technique.
How I Work
My aim is to help you reach your goals in the shortest time possible, working at the root of the problem rather than the surface of it. I draw on several approaches depending on what you need rather than running everyone through the same programme:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Working on the link between what you think, how you feel, and what you do.
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
- Concrete skills for riding out intense emotion without acting on it.
- Trauma-Focused CBT
- Adapted specifically for processing traumatic experience at a safe pace.
- Trauma Incident Reduction
- A structured way of working through a specific event that still has a grip.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
- Starting from what already works and building out from there.
- Person-Centred
- You lead. I follow, reflect, and occasionally ask the awkward question.
- Motivational Interviewing
- For when part of you wants to change and part of you really doesn't.
- Strength-Based
- Building on what you already do well rather than cataloguing what you don't.
Who I See
Adults, teens, and adults over 65. Individuals, couples, and families. I'm particularly experienced with trauma, anxiety, depression, anger, relational conflict, mood disorders, and life transitions.
